Latina Therapist providing care for anxiety, postpartum, codependency, and self-esteem

“Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within.”

- Gabor Maté

Liv Curiously offers a calming space to help you process your emotional pain. Through collaboration and curiosity, we will talk about what you want to receive from your therapy experience. Therapy is not a quick fix pitstop and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. No one knows you better than you - even if right now you’re not sure who you are. You will not be alone. I will be here to walk with you and light your path as you journey through your past life experiences and how it’s impacted you today. You deserve to tend to the wounded parts of you. You deserve to care for yourself in the way you care for others.

My Story

There was no ah-ha moment in my story when I knew I wanted to be a therapist. In undergrad, I used to say I wanted to be a therapist because people fascinated me. If I am being honest I was searching for an explanation to family mental illness and addiction. I was desperate to understand the people in my life and decipher why they were they way they were.

It wasn’t until I mustered up enough courage to start therapy when I began to piece together the various parts of me fractured by generational trauma. I was faced with discomfort, hatred, disgust, and shame. Through inner child work & being curious about the different beliefs I carried inside me I was able to put into words what I needed to thrive. I was able to feel less anxious, more sure of myself, and no longer afraid to stick up for myself (well, kind of...I’m still a work in progress.)

Liv Curiously Therapy symbolizes reconnection to the self and reclaiming one’s inner power.

I will be your co-pilot in therapy.

Talk therapy is more than validation, support, & reassurance. It’s coming face to face with your low self-esteem, anxiety, & family trauma. You will practice self-compassion, challenge your negative self-talk, reflect on your life story, practice different communication skills, & unlearn unhelpful relationship beliefs.

Through this you will be able to discover connections between past life experiences & the present. This will allow you to identify root causes of low self-esteem & anxiety, discover what your boundaries are, & how to use your voice to stick up for yourself.

My Guiding Principles

Cultural & Racial Competency

I take into account your cultural & racial identity and how that has impacted your experiences in life. As a first generation Latina I understand the complexities of living in a world plagued by racism & oppression.

Trauma Focused

I do not believe anyone needs to be ‘fixed.’ My healing practice is understanding how life has impacted you & altered your mental well-being.

Self-Compassion

Life is already hard enough without the self-deprecating comments. I believe self-compassion is key in therapy especially when you’re coming face to face with your self.

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any”

— Alice Walker
